1 Corinthians 12:14
SCIENCE CURRICULUM VISION
Challenge:
Pupils are pushed to maximise their own individual potential in science. The subject curriculum offers many opportunities for pupils to engage with complex theories and abstract ideas that will stretch their knowledge and deepen their understanding beyond the limits of what they once believed they were once capable. Pupils will learn the skills that will help them cope with future challenges they may face in the real world after their school life.
Resilience:
In science, pupils are taught logical approaches to deal with challenging and varied problems. Through experiences with these types of contexts and working through their reasoning, pupils will build upon their confidence, becoming resilient learners and workers.
Community:
There are ample opportunities for pupils to make connections and build friendships with their peers in science when they participate in paired and grouped practical experiments and investigations. Team work and communication are some of the most important skills pupils will learn and these are also essential skills to prepare pupils for the working world when they leave school.
Adventure:
Science is an incredibly exciting subject! From learning about how the body works, to astronomy and outer space, to explosions and other chemical reactions. Science is certain to instil in pupils, excitement, passion and enthusiasm about the world around them!
Independent:
The world of science has limitless potential of discoveries to be made in the future. Within the science curriculum, pupils are faced with unusual contexts and questions and they are challenged to put forward their individual ideas in order to solve the problem or devise an experiment to test a hypothesis.
Curiosity:
In science we aim to help pupils develop a sense of awe and wonder about the world around them, ensuring their curiosity prepares them for jobs that don’t even exist yet!
