Term 1 2025/6

WEEK 1

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Father God,

Thank you for bringing us back safely to start the year here at St. George’s. We ask that you help us to make the most of this new start and to try our best in whatever we do, not just today but every day throughout this year.

In Jesus name, Amen.

2-9-25

A prayer from a Year 10 pupil:

Dear Lord, thank you for all the staff who are a part of the St George’s community. Give them wisdom and all they need to help them fulfil their roles. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, as we think about friendship this term, we pray that you will give us wisdom to be aware of the needs of others and to know how to help. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

WEEK 2

Proverbs 27:9

A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.

Father God,

We thank you for our Parents, Carers and families and for all that they do for us and mean to us. Help us to be the best version of ourselves, not only at school but at home too. Help us to continue to make the most of every opportunity.

Today is the Lord’s Prayer,

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Heavenly Father, we pray for those in our community who are ill or have family and friends who are suffering. We ask for healing. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father,

We pray for those who help to keep us safe in society, such as our NHS, emergency services, armed forces and all the key workers. Thank you for their bravery and commitment. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Father God,

We thank you for being with us through this week. We thank you for all of the things that we have learnt and enjoyed and we ask that you will bless us as we take time to rest and enjoy over the weekend.

WEEK 3

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

We thank you for our Governors. We thank you for their dedication and their willingness to give up their time for our school. We pray that you will bless them with wisdom and give them clear guidance as they work with Mr Mirams and the leadership team to make our school the best it can be.

Dear God,

Thank you for flowers and the beautiful sun above our heads and all the wonderful things you have done for us.  Thank you for helping us to work and helping us be kind to one another and to help people up if they fall over.

Thank you for the wonderful sounds of nature and the cool breeze brushing through the trees making the birds sing beautiful melodies. WEEK 4

Proverbs 27:17 Just as iron sharpens iron, friends sharpen the minds of each other.

Dear Lord, Thank You for fearfully and wonderfully creating each of us. Thank You for giving us worth in Your eyes. Help us live as who You uniquely intended us to be. Help us to live peacefully and joyfully with others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Thank you that we have friends to talk to and keep us company. I pray that we value friends and understand the importance of friendship. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you for a roof that lies above my head.

Dear Lord,

Please give us hope to make this year one of the best ones. Give us the friendship we need, let us not feel peer pressure to make ourselves something we are not. You God, have made us who we are and help us to be happy with how you made us. Amen.

O God of the nations,
as we look to that day when you will gather people
from north and south, east and west,
into the unity of your peaceable Kingdom,
guide with your just and gentle wisdom all who take counsel
for the nations of the world,
that all your people may spend their days in security, freedom, and peace, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for our food and water.

Thank you for our friends and family.

WEEK 3

‘Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.’ – Ephesians 4:32

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the many men and women who serve in our armed forces.

We thank you for their service and sacrifices. Amen

Heavenly Father,

We pray for peace in our world. We pray for the innocent victims and for wisdom for those who have the power to change things. Please help us in our daily lives to live in peace with those around us. Help us to resolve differences without falling out.

Heavenly Father,

We pray for all the festivities at this time of year and for your joy and peace. We thank you for this time of year, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Please bless the Carol service this evening as we celebrate the message of Christmas.

Dear Lord,

 

We pray for the homeless and those in need at this time of year. May they be kept safe and we thank you for the work of the Gap project, Salvation Army, Thanet Food Link - and others locally who support the homeless community.
